My friend Margaret told me this story just today.
She's in a class where the number of enrolled students exceeds that of the available chairs. If you are two minutes late there are no seats for you.
Usually Margaret isn't late, but today she got tied up and made it to class just after the bell. Finding a seat was going to be futile so she sat herself down on the ground. Not more than 10 minutes later, a classmate, himself perched on top of a recycle bin, walked outside of the class and reappeared with a chair - which he offered to Margaret. Margaret hadn't asked - that was all on his own prerogative.
It made such an impression on Margaret that she told me this story with much energy and enthusiasm. It made my heart smile to see her face light up like that. I hope this story brightened your day, too!
